Remember that water looks for any entry and then travels downward. Here are some tips to consider when inspecting your roof for water damage. Water will typically travel through missing or loose nail holes. Take your time checking your roof because this is an area that if often rushed by homeowners. Also look for signs of missing or worn roof shingles. Chimneys, roof vents, or turbines may need to be properly sealed. Always check for leaks during the day when natural light is present and it is easily visible to see wet spots. Inspect your attic carefully for water spots and discoloration.
